Welcoming remark
at the opening ceremony of the Moscow exhibition stand for the organizers, participants and guests of the European Trade Fair for Conservation, Restoration and Old Building Renovation DENKMAL-2012

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

It is my pleasure to welcome you at the Moscow exhibition stand of the European trade fair for conservation, restoration and old building renovation DENKMAL-2012.

The Moscow-Leipzig partnerships and cooperation remain one of the key priorities of the Russian capital’s foreign economic and international activities.

DENKMAL is taking a greater significance as one of the most important international exhibitions of this kind. This project popularizes the activities which deal with the conservation and use of historical monuments and expands resources for preservation of the national cultures.

Participation in this significant forum is especially important for us in the cross years of Russia in Germany and Germany in Russia and because the Russian Federation is the DENKMAL’s partner-country this year.

The Moscow exposition will place special emphasis on improvement of the regulatory and legal framework as a precondition for the conservation, use, popularization and state protection of the Moscow heritage sites; restoration of the monuments of wooden architecture; historical and cultural monuments of the Russian victory in the Patriotic War of 1812; presentation of DENKMAL-2013; “Moscow region agglomeration”, etc.

I am convinced that the Moscow exposition will be interesting for the expert community. It will promote international cooperation and further invigorate partner relations between Russia and Germany, Moscow and Leipzig.

I wish you good health, well-being, every success in your business relations and new professional achievements!

SERGEY V. CHEREMIN

Minister of the Government of Moscow,

Head of the Department for Foreign Economic and International Relations
